Facebook releases their video year in review

Hot on the heels of YouTube when it comes to video consumption both locally and globally, Facebook has released their own year video year in review for 2014.

It’s interesting to see the different approaches by both platforms in showcasing the videos. Whilst there are overlaps in cultural references and videos, it is evident that Facebook has taken a very much socially aware and empowering and emotional approach to the videos, whilst, YouTube is a lot more light hearted entertaining and fun. Potentially an indication of the different paths both platforms are trying to carve out in the video market to have relevancy with consumers.
