The Cinematic Pin has arrived. Despite being one of the most popular social media platforms with 72.8 million users, Pinterest hasn’t always proven to be the most profitable for product sales as the platform still finds its footing in the direct response market. Times are changing for Pinterest with the introduction of promoted pins and now ‘The Cinematic Pin’. Cinematic pins work quite similar to promoted pins in that they blend in with a users feed, except they move.Pinterest general manager of monetization Tim Kendall told Mashable, “Our new mobile ad format gives brands the ability to tell their story with motion. But critically important, it keeps users in control of the motion.”Unfortunately this option is only available in the U.S. for the time being. Hopefully we see it coming our way soon.
